If this year you prefer to stay closer to home rather than travelling abroad due to concerns about coronavirus, we invite you to the Moravian Karst. All publicly accessible caves are open, and other attractions such as the miniature train and cable car are running. There are also several events for families with children near our hotel. Take a look at where to go, even if the weather is not perfect.
Exhibition: In the Footsteps of Beetle Pytlík
Until the end of July you can visit the House of Nature of the Moravian Karst to see the exhibition In the Footsteps of Beetle Pytlík, or: Insect Characters from the Books of Ondřej Sekora through the Eyes of an Entomologist.
Doll and Bat Exhibition at Blansko Castle
If you head to Blansko to visit the castle, the tour route includes a doll exhibition. The Blansko Museum has also prepared a standalone exhibition in the castle cellars: Head Down – Bats in the Moravian Karst.
Hidden Beauty of Stones
On Saturday 1 August, the House of Nature of the Moravian Karst is organising an event called Hidden Beauty of Stones. The programme will run from 9 am to 3 pm. Participants will first gather at a quarry in Jedovnice, where each person will find their own stone (limestone) under the expert guidance of geologist Ing. Jiří Šafařík CSc. They will then move to the House of Nature of the Moravian Karst, where they will process the limestone into a collector's specimen.
