Ecological fish farming in the Moravian Karst
The fish farm is located in the Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area, where fish grow in the clean waters of the Punkva River. Thanks to the absence of chemical de-icing agents and industrial pollution, the trout have healthy conditions for development right from the egg stage.
Farming in karst water is a rarity not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe. The quality is regularly checked by the State Veterinary Administration through laboratory tests. Thanks to this, we offer fish with natural development, free from industrial diseases typical of large-scale farms.
A culinary experience from the Moravian Karst
You can purchase Punkevní trout live, gutted, or vacuum-packed. Thanks to its delicate and flavorful meat, it is popular not only among customers but also in restaurants. It's excellent for grilling or classic preparations with herbs, 'miller's style', or with lemon butter – you can also taste it directly in our hotel restaurant.
Fish sales
Sales take place every Friday year-round from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM directly at the fish farm, which is located 1.5 km before the Skalní mlýn hotel when coming from Blansko.
Fish from our farm bear the designation "Moravian Karst – regional product," which confirms their origin and quality.
