Come and See the Bats

Are you curious about the lives of bats and would you like to see these small flying mammals up close? Then be sure to visit the European Bat Night on Saturday 5 September. It will take place at the Kateřinská Cave complex and in the premises of the House of Nature.

Programme:

– tour of part of the Kateřinská Cave
– talk on the evolution, biology and ecology of bats
– introduction to methods of bat monitoring and conservation
– live bat demonstrations

The first tour starts at 5 pm, followed by further sessions at 5:45 pm, 6:30 pm and 7:15 pm. Prior registration is required. The estimated duration of the tour and the accompanying demonstrations and talks is approximately 2 hours.

The Blansko Museum will also focus on bats at the beginning of September. On Friday 4 September 2020, there will be a lecture with photo presentation entitled "Bats in the Moravian Karst" in the audiovisual room of the museum at Blansko Castle, starting at 7 pm. On Saturday 5 September, guided tours of the exhibition "Head Down" will be held in the castle cellars at 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm.
