The House of Nature of the Moravian Karst invites you to a truly original exhibition entitled In the Footsteps of Beetle Pytlík, or: Insect Characters from the Books of Ondřej Sekora through the Eyes of an Entomologist. This is a travelling exhibition created in collaboration with the Chod Museum. It will be on display from 28 March to 30 June 2020 at the House of Nature.
What do the famous insect characters from Ondřej Sekora's stories actually look like in real life? Did the illustrator and writer accurately depict their abilities and appearance? These are the questions explored by the exhibition's author, entomologist Zbyněk Kejval from the Chod Museum. Both adults and children will find the exhibition entertaining and educational.
Nearly thirty large-format posters feature illustrations of individual literary characters accompanied by short excerpts from the books, complemented by photographs of the real insects.
The exhibition has previously been displayed, for example, at the Jihlava Museum.
