To mark the 55th anniversary of the discovery of Améterská Cave, this cave – normally closed to the public – will open for three weekends in October: 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 October 2024 from 9 am to 4 pm.
The meeting point is at Pustý Žleb, at the Koního spád meander, at the entrance shaft called U javora. Access to the entrance is only possible on foot or by bicycle along marked trails from Sloup or from Macocha, or from Skalní mlýn and the Punkva Caves (please do not cut off the marked paths!).
All excursion days will follow the same schedule:
► first entry into the cave at 9 am, last entry at 4 pm
► entries every half hour (15 entries per day in total)
► the tour follows the so-called Ministerial Route, approximately 500 m in and the same back
► duration of tour: 45 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour
► maximum number of persons per group: 10 (+ guide).
The organisers note that mandatory equipment is required (a good torch and a helmet – a cycling helmet is sufficient), and they recommend rubber boots and a change of clothes.
Entry is at your own risk and advance registration is required.
